Check out the projects at Kickstarter.com. This is a great site where you can go to pledge money for projects you find interesting and worthwhile. If the project doesn’t meet or exceed the fundraising goal, it’s a no-go and nobody who has pledged $ pays a cent. If the goal is met, you become a part of something really cool.
I like this model because it allows you to give what you can and still contribute to worthwhile independent projects (THEREBY CHANGING THE WORLD).
